The Grampians National Park - Victoria, Australia

The Grampians National park is situated in Western Victoria. It is comprised of three main sections separating its walks – North, Central (Wonderland) and South and Western Walks. Each section offers stunning vistas and walks for all levels of fitness. In all the Grampians boasts over 30 different walks, ranging from easy 10 minute strolls for those wanting to just soaking the calming atmosphere to more challenging 5 1/5 hr hikes for the fit and adventurous. 

Over the next few months I will be attempting to complete and review each of the walks available in the Grampians, so please be patient and let me know if you are desperate to see reviews for any particular site to be reviewed.

Here is a breakdown of the walks (click on any link to see a review of the hike or walk),

Walks Reviewed 

­North Section

The walks on this section tend to be on the moderate to hard side. However there are some shorter strolls for those looking for something a little more basic. 

· Mt Zero- (Mura Mura) - Time 1-1 ½ hrs Distance 2.8km (return) Grade - Medium

· Beehive Falls - Time 1-1 ½ hrs Distance 2.8km (return) Grade – Medium

· Hollow Mountain (Wudjun-Guyan) - Time 1-1 ½ hrs Distance 2.2km (return) Grade –      Medium - Hard

· Mt Stapylton (Gunigalg) - Time 2-2 ½ hrs Distance 4.6km (return) Grade - Hard

· Mt Difficult (Gar) - Time 4 - 5hrs Distance 8.8km (return) Grade – Hard

·Overnight walks 

. Briggs Bluff to Mt Difficult - Time 2 days/ 1 night  Distance 21.2kmkm  Grade – Hard 

. Mt Rosea overnight walk - Time 2 days/ 1 night Distance 23.5km Grade – Hard

Wonderland 

This area has a many Easy and Medium rated walks, but there are a few longer more challenging walks for those looking for a bit of adventure. 

· Lakeview Lookout - Time 15-20min Distance 1km (return) Grade – Easy

· Fyans Creek (Barri Yalug) Loop - Time  30-50min Distance 2.5km (circuit) Grade – Easy

·  Clematis Falls - Time 40min Distance 2.4km (return) Grade – Easy

· Grand Canyon Loop - Time 20-40min Distance 900m (circuit) Grade – Medium

 . Mackenzie Falls Walk - Time 1hr Distance 2.0km (return) Grade -Medium

· Sundial Peak - Time  2 ½ - 3hrs Distance 6.4km (circuit) Grade - Medium

· Borinia Peak - Time 2-3 hrs Distance 6km (return) Grade – Medium

· Mt Rosea- Time 3 - 4 hrs Distance 4.5km (return) Grade – Medium - Hard 

· The Pinnacle Walks - Time and Distance - Various Grade – Various

· Halls Gap to the Pinnacle -Time 2 ½ hrs Distance 3.6km (return) Grade – Hard

Southern and Western Section

Much of this section is currently closed due to floods and ongoing repair work.

·Red Gum Walk - Time 15-45min Distance 600m – 2km (return) Grade – Easy

·Dunkeld Arboretum - Time 40min Distance 2km (return) Grade – Easy

·Browning Loop Walk - Time  40min-1hr Distance 2km (circuit) Grade – Easy

·Manja Shelter - Time 1hr Distance 2.6km (return) Grade – Easy

·The Piccaninny - Time 1-1 1/2hrs Distance 2.4km (return) Grade –Easy - Medium 

·Teddy Bear Gap Loop - Time  2 ½ -3 hrs Distance 7 km (circuit) Grade – Easy-Medium

·Burrong Falls - Time 10-20min Distance 640m (return) Grade – Medium

· Paddy Castle -Time 25min Distance 600m (return) Grade – Medium

· Billimina Shelter - Time  35mins Distance 1.1km (return) Grade – Medium

· Mt William (Duwul) Summit - Time 1-1 ½ hrs Distance 3.6km (return) Grade – Medium  

·Tower Hill - Time  30min Distance 600m (return) Grade – Medium - Hard

· Mt Sturgeon (Wurgarri) - Time  2 ½ -3hrs Distance 7km (return) Grade – Hard

· Mt Abrupt (Mud-dadjung) - Time 2 ½ - 3hrs Distance 6.5km (return) Grade – Hard
