Time 2 ½ - 3hrs Distance 6.4km (circuit) Grade - Medium
This walk was a lovely end to the day. While it is classified as a Medium grade, it was relatively easy to do and afforded some great vantage points of the valley bellow. The other great thing about this particular peak is that it gets far less traffic than more popular walks such as the Grand Canyon. This means a more peaceful walk and a greater chance to enjoy the beautiful Australian bush.
The walk begins at sundial car park. a wide sandy soil track which forks about 50m up the road begins the ascent to the peak. Alternating dirt steps and sandy track gently climes through native forest for most of the journey. At the fork with the Mt Rosea track you will see some beautiful stone walls and signal the final 300m rocky ascent to the peak. The look out gives spectacular views of the valley below and nearby Mt Rosea.
This was a great walk and one that can be easily teamed up with other walks on the same area such as the Lakeview walk or even the Sundial carpark to Pinnacle walk.
