Grand Canyon Loop
Time 20-40min Distance 900m (circuit) Grade – Medium
This is a very popular walk and its easy to see why. The rock walls that greet you are fabulous and there are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities through out. For those who love rock-climbing, the cliffs will give you plenty of ideas for your next climb, so its definitely worth a look.
Once you reach the top, the views are stunning and the slope offers some wonderful rock formations to explore. Make sure you take plenty of water on this walk. While the incline is not too steep, there are a number of steps and ladders you need to climb to make it to the top which can make it thirsty work. Having said that, there are plenty of places to stop and have a rest if you need it.
On the down side, the traffic on this walk is rather heavy. Getting in early will mean the difference between a hassle free walk or having to park down the slope and walk a fair distance and constantly giving way to descending walkers. Another thing to notice is that unlike most other walks, there didn't seem to be any toilets available so make sure you go before setting off to this location.
To finish the walk you take the wonderland car park exit. However, I would suggest that instead of just doing the loop you go onto the the Pinnacle summit which is also spectacular.
